'Tis the Season

Gary was supposed to come out yesterday to finish up the roof so that we could get the building inspector for the next part of the inspection (notice the heavy sigh that came with that last statement). Alas, Gary’s real job did not allow for this so he will be out this Friday to work on the bathroom.
And so the decorating of the Christmas tub begins!

We have decorated the tub for Christmas! It is filled with Poinsettias and burgundy velvet. We were going to add lights but were afraid it may scratch the finish. The Christmas Tub is center stage in the living room bedecked for the Christmas holidays. Gary will be out tomorrow to finish the roof work. WooHoo!

What a great idea that was! Might as well have decorated it, if it was sitting there in your living room!

I can't help thinking this must have made quite the topic of conversation with any guests that should arrive.
Anyone that has done major renovations knows that one has to improvise...and you succeeded quite well.

We are nearly finished with a ugly carport turned into workshop. It ALWAYS takes so much longer than thought. Lovely tub though!

Many people helped with the construction of the bathroom as well as moral support when things were moving rather slowly. I would like to personally thank my wonderful husband who agreed to this madness in the first place and worked so very hard to give me an amazing bathroom. I would also like to thank Greg my diligent and patient contractor. As for plumbing, what can I say? St. Pauly is the best! Not only did he work hard on the plumbing but also on construction and woodworking! This is why he was made the ‘Assistant Project Manager!’ In addition, I would like to thank Richard, MY electrician, for doing a remarkable job installing all of the electrical stuff! To the wives of these men, Toni, Kirby, and Sonya I thank you for giving up so much of your personal time with your husbands so that they could help with this project. Thank you to Miles and Chris who also helped Pauly with plumbing jobs. Mr. Jim, who worked hard and did an incredible job on the drywall-thank you! Thank you to Antiques in Old Towne (http://antiquesinoldtown.blogspot.com)and 221 Antiques & Coffee where we purchased furnishings and architectural pieces to enhance the bathroom project.
